Longridge Hockey Club

A great night was had be all when Longridge Hockey Club celebrated the end of their successful 2008-2009 season in style with a Presentation Evening held at St Wilfrid’s Club.

The Junior members of the club were presented with their Certificates of Achievement, the Club Trophies were awarded and much thanks and praise was given to all those involved with the running of the Club and teams. Special mention was given to the umpires, coaches and captains, but also huge thanks was given to the parents and supporters who turn out, whatever the weather, to encourage and motivate both the senior and junior sides. Longridge Hockey Club’s Chairperson Lynn Hoyle last night (Saturday 16 May) picked up the prestigious Club Member of the Year Award at the inaugural national hockey awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham.

Lynn has devoted 33 years to our club, turning her hand to everything from coaching and umpiring to chairing the committee. As a former 1st XI coach, one of Lynn’s most significant contributions this past year has been as mentor to up-and-coming coaches. Read More »
