Dust off your Hockey Sticks

It seems to have come round very quickly but its time to dust off you hockey sticks and give your legs a strech at pre season training!

Pre season training starts at Longridge from 7-8pm on Tuesday 4th August and will run every Tuesday until September for anyone who is interested. The training is open to all and we are always looking for new players of all abilities to join us.

From September 1st training is back to the usual time of 7.30pm-8.30pm. Junior training restarts on the 8th September 6.30pm – 7.30pm

Anna Wins Club Volunteer of the Year Award

Anna Sutcliffe has been awarded the Adult volunteer of the year award at Ribble Valley Sports Awards and will go forward into the Lancashire Round.

 Anna joined Longridge hockey club as a junior member over 15 years ago; since then the number of hours she has put into developing the club and its members is overwhelming The club could honestly not operate without her. Longridge Hockey club has grown from strength to strength and Anna has played a major part in this. We hope Anna accepts this award as a small token of our appreciation to her for all the hard work and dedication she puts into the club and support she gives the members.

Longridge Presentation Evening

A great night was had be all when Longridge Hockey Club celebrated the end of their successful 2008-2009 season in style with a Presentation Evening held at St Wilfrid’s Club.

 

The Junior members of the club were presented with their Certificates of Achievement, the Club Trophies were awarded and much thanks and praise was given to all those involved with the running of the Club and teams. Special mention was given to the umpires, coaches and captains, but also huge thanks was given to the parents and supporters who turn out, whatever the weather, to encourage and motivate both the senior and junior sides. Lynn Hoyle Wins National Hockey Award

Longridge Hockey Club’s Chairperson Lynn Hoyle last night (Saturday 16 May) picked up the prestigious Club Member of the Year Award at the inaugural national hockey awards ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham.

Lynn has devoted 33 years to our club, turning her hand to everything from coaching and umpiring to chairing the committee. As a former 1st XI coach, one of Lynn’s most significant contributions this past year has been as mentor to up-and-coming coaches. Read More »
