3rd Team Match Report: 25/10/08

Playing their first fixture on the home side’s resurfaced pitch, Longridge 3rds had a tough fixture against Chorley & Leyland 2nds. Despite all best efforts, the attack of Chorley & Leyland could not be withstood, going down a goal by the end of the first half. The second half saw Longridge play with a little more shape which led to an equaliser from Bronte Edgar following some good passing play between the forwards.
Longridge were unlucky to concede a second goal from a re-taken short corner, however they did not let their heads drop - all the more impressive for the torrential rain that fell throughout the match - when the third goal for Chorley and Leyland sealed the win. 3-1 was the final score, but Longridge will take this match as another opportunity to learn and develop their matchplay skills.
